we lived on the top floor of an apartment building when i was a kid and all of the cables ran down the building from the roof right past our balcony.
my pops grabbed one, split it and ran it into our living room.

this was before cable boxes and i think all we got from it was HBO.

thread got me feeling nostalgic as fukk right now. I remember the old man was throwing a party one day. I dont know whats going on, im just thinking "cool, my cousins are here, we'll shoot some hoops" the night goes on and i see my old man pull the tv outside and the good ol black box :wow:. Neighbors, friends, family all gathered around the tv and its to watch the tyson vs holyfield fight :banderas: i got to see LIVE tyson bite a chunk of evander holyfield's ear off. I'll never forget it. I got to witness history :blessed:

I'll go back a little further. The first fight I remember watching on the black box at my pops was the Foreman vs. Moorer fight in '94. I was rooting for Foreman's old ass to make history.

We used to have one back then. Boxing matches and wwf ppvs were always an event. I also remember my parents finding out my brother and me discovered some channels. That didn't go well. Friends from the neighborhood would stop by after school on way home. Pops always used to hide and lock the box in my brothers room whenever the cable guy came around. Saying some made up story so he won't go in there. Later on around high school or later, we switched to satellite and the hacked cards. Thousands of channels at our disposal. One's i had never even heard of before. Those were the days back then. Now pops just gets upset cuz Comcast and now uverse charge him an arm and a leg. :wow:

i remember we had the black box from 95-98....we stayed gettin the exclusive flicks and PPV fights:banderas:

i remember watching dangerous minds, batman forever, the cable guy (the irony:lolbron:) sunset park, money train, money talks, don't be a menace, the 6th man, clockers, set it off, desperado, dusk til dawn, rosewood and bunch of other joints

and they replayed them all day long so i watched them over and over again...memorized damn near every line in those movies

sadly it all came to an end when one of my neighbors got caught and the feds shut that shyt down for the entire neighborhood:snoop:
