So I got to the two-parter Sanctuary episodes (there's a million of these two to four-parters; never knew it was such a staple in the 90's
) but this radical a$$hole Cortez man
Alright, so Magneto saw Charles's methods weren't working and decided to move all the mutants onto a sovereign rock away from Earth prosecution and discrimination.
Magneto goes on to note he held no grudges against Charles or the X-men and even offered them to join.
Goes on to invite and welcome human NASA pilots to show world leaders that, while they meant business, they also weren't ruthless savages. This is interesting because Magnus seemed to be emulating some of Charles in his approach.
When it's all said and done, and things seem like they might FINALLY look up, this fool Cortez launches a missile strike
Magneto then goes, "breh, that's for whenever they ATTACK US." Which, he was genuinely trying to avoid and even said to Charles that if they stood their ground and projected strength, but didn't instigate anything the humans would have no chance but to tolerate and even respect them over time.
Practically sent him (and even Charles/X-men by proxy) back to square one with humans. Sometimes it be your own people.
Magneto was even sincerely disappointed in the end
This is the one situation where "Magneto was Right" actually happens before my eyes and it's actually got me heated, brehs.
