I wonder if they was gonna drop it during EVO since the game was apart of the line-up to celebrate its 20th anniversary :francis: but thanks to COVID cancelling everything I'll never know
It was more than Covid cancelling everything evo was still gonna be happening at least online but due to all the sexual assault/abuse allegations at multiple levels including Mr.Wiz himself really dig the grave for evo.

Why did they not put this on the current gen systems? It was on the PS3

I wonder why too and also why not put MVC1 or Puzzle Fighter hell even darkstalkers collection on current gen. Same goes for the Simpsons arcade game and the x-men one. These games the only reason i still keep my PS3

i hated the MvC 2 soundtrack so much that I replaced the music with DJ Shadow and RJD2 instrumentals on my burned copy of the game on Dreamcast.

taste my have changed over the years, but back then I couldn't stand the music.

Jazz usually ages really well. It was def a strange choice at the time. I remember being in the arcade when this dropped and listening to the music like wtf lol and then listening to it on my Dreamcast. It’s honestly one of the reasons why it’s been such rememberale game for the last 25 years outside of the gameplay.

Side note: I’m Loving the revival of this game back into the spotlight with the collection…even with the God tier characters destroying the rest of the cast. One of the best fighting games ever made which will be played forever. They’ll never be able replicate the feeling of this game with all of the games having modern controls and auto combos n shyt.

That auto combo shyt literally ruined my love for the fighting games. The fact that it's even an option just fukks with me for some reason. Like do you know how many hours of training it took to pull off some of this shyt and yall out here just tilting the stick in different directions and pressing one fukking button?!
