So I'm listening to music on my phone and this shyt comes on shuffle and I haven't heard it in quite sometime and it got me like :ohhh::wow::gladbron::blessed: and I've been replaying this shyt non-stop for the past 30 mins or so and it got me thinking who really wrote this track? Honestly, shyt sounds like either Nas, Jay or Em coulda wrote it.

Although it sounds like something nas would write with the subject matter and his cadence, it makes no sense that everyone from Jay to Em to Royce to Hittman and Snoop got credits in the credit lists and somehow for that one song :ahh: didn't get credits :rudy:

Maybe Em coulda wrote it cause he does get credits in the track listing (I've got the album booklet, not some unreliable bs off wiki) and he was HEAVILY influenced by nas, so maybe he was jacking the gawd for this track with his flow and subject matter.

Anyways brehs who would you say wrote this classic track as much, as I hate to say I think that fakkit em wrote it, all the logical facts points towards em writing it but there's no denying that :ahh: influence is HEAVY.

Sidenote: IMO dre also has possibly one of the greatest voices in rap, even though he doesn't write his shyt and copies his ghost writers flows, the way he raps is just so fukking effortless :whoo:

"Cops is anxious to put nikkaz in handcuffs
They wanna hang us, see us dead or enslave us
Keep us trapped in the same place we raised in
Then they wonder why we act so outrageous
Run around stressed out and pull out gauges
Cause everytime you let the animal out cages
It's dangerous to people who look like strangers
But now we got a new era of gangsters
Hustlers and youngsters livin amongst us
Lookin at us, now callin us bustaz
Can't help but reminisce back when it was us"

thats Nas written all over it.

Nas did the Watcher and Jay-Z wrote Dre's verse on the watcher 2

Reading the credits, Eminem and Dre are credited. Nas is rumored to have ghostwritten Dre's verses. I think Eminem wrote the hook since he also provides additional vocals on it. Jay Z is also thought to have written Dre's verses. It's possible they all contributed: Nas and Jay wrote a verse, and Eminem wrote the hook.
