All I'll leave it at is that in a diss record - i.e. not on a battle rap stage - the #1 most important factor is how disrespectful you get. Everything else is in service of that, if the material doesn't cut deep enough and doesn't capture that feeling enough, no one cares if you were more technical from a scheme pov.

It is disrespectful but it also doesn't really change anyone's opinion of Kendrick as a person. The domestic violence bars do change Kendrick's image but, again, Drake subbed the haymaker in "Push Ups" which gave Kendrick the opportunity and time to knock him out first. Drake miscalculated on Push Ups and clearly didn't see what was coming, by including the Whitney bar at all he should've taken a page out of Common's book and came with "The bytch In Yoo" energy instead of a great value Takeover.
