Knicks got rid of Toppin because they had Randle.

But Randle has been injury prone...

Toppin probably fit better with Brunson than Randle.

But hindsight is 20/20.
Idk a dirty Heat player (which one?) undercut him under the rim, and led to that last injury. Technically you’re right but how do you predict that as a FO. Also Toppin was releasing tapes of him cursing Thibs out. I would have liked more for that trade but it is what it is. He was on the verge of making the locker room toxic and the FO got him out before he did that.

Define star. The Knicks don’t need a star that’s going to command the ball and not play defense.

This offseason is going to be critical.
They need someone who can carry offense when Bronson isnt playing

That's why they should only trade randle for those type of players who can stay healthy

They don't have roster flexibility for a quality bench unless they trade Randle. Let's see who wants an injury riddled Randle on an essential FA year
That’s not true.

Cap wise the Knicks are far enough from the luxury they can keep most their key players and probably still add a significant piece. To put it into perspective Randle and Brunson combined make as much as Dame does. DDV makes about 12 mil, Mitch and Brunson contracts actually go down every year, and Bojan is a 20 mil trade piece they can add about 5 draft picks too and still have a horde.

If anything expect them to go hard this offseason because it’s the year before Randle and Brunson have player options.

The move would be to try and get a starter for Bojan and picks and then move DDV and Hart to the bench.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
See my post above

Nah, they need a wing that can score and play defense.

A better version of OG. I'm 50/50 on bringing him back. He's too injury prone. But when he's in the lineup, the Knicks are way better.

Allen's production isn't crucial and can be replaced with 2 players with lesser roles.

KD would be a good fit to get out of the East.

If you're going to keep the Villanova 3 as starters, a player like KD would fit.

But he got 2 years left on his contract and he's about to turn 36.

Then there's KAT. If I was him, I would be trying to leave the TWolves, and If I were the TWolves, I would entertain trading him.

At the end of the day, the Knicks best bet is to continue building the way they've been doing it. Trading for a superstar will change the dynamic of the entire team, but at the same time, they can't over pay the roster they currently have.
