not true breh. only reason we never paid attention was cuz they just werent cool before. seattle is so isolated and just didn't have enough stories for national media to cover them. i remember in the area when hasselbeck and shaun alexander were ballin and they were pretty passionate then.

Its not even hating it just doesnt seem genuine. No one is going to be saying "Oakland needs a new team" when the Raiders are in Vegas.

Wouldn't exactly call that the fairest comparison. Seattle's nowhere near Oklahoma City. and they changed everything about the franchise.

Even when the Raiders move to Vegas, they'll still have the feel, culture, and, most likely, the fan base of the team that was in the Bay & LA. While they've been in Oakland and, even with the Chargers & Rams back in the city, the team that gets repped the most is the Raiders. It goes Raiders, 49ers, Rams, then like...the Cowboys.

(In a weird twist of fate, my neighbors are HARDCORE Packers fans and I hear them chanting when they're stomping out my Leos). :mjcry:

I guarantee big division games are going to be seen as a weekend tailgate trips to Vegas for the Cali Raider fans with almost half of the Black Hole being people from Cali. Cheap flights, short drives. Psh. Forget about it.

I was born in 91 breh, I dont remember anyone around me rooting for the Sonics as their main team. The kids around the country that thought Lob City was exciting wont care if the Clippers leave LA. The early 2000's Sacramento Kings played an exciting brand of basketball and no one will care if they leave Sacramento. Yall gotta stop exaggerating.

The city of LA won't care if the Clippers leave. They have always been a perennial loser (minus the last few years) and 2nd fiddle to the Lakers. They also have never made an NBA Finals appearance. The Sonics have a strong basketball history that includes a championship and another finals appearance agains Michael Jordan.

The Kings have a history of moving from town to town. They've only been in Sacramento since 1985. They have some history, but the Sonics had a longer history in one city while winning a championship. The Kings were exciting during their early 2000's run. I enjoyed watching them play and feel like they were robbed of making the finals, but the Kings had very little to no star power. The Sonics had star power. It's why there is a thread saying people miss the Seattle Sonics. You were born in 91 so when the Sonics were in their peak you were in elementary school. Some of us older heads, myself included, remember that team much different then someone your age ever will.

Bruh most of the people acting like they miss the Sonics are millennial's. Its the cool wave to ride. The Raiders have a way bigger history than the Sonics, they are literally the most popular football team in Cali but the only people that truly care that they are leaving are people from the bay.

:comeon:

the difference being that if the raiders move to las vegas, theyre still going to be the raiders.

as opposed to the sonics, who don't exist anymore.

The Kings aren't moving, even though a city like Sacramento shouldn't have a team. They're got a new state of the art arena, its the only ticket in town and they pack that arena even if they suck, the memories of those early 00's Kings that were screwed by the NBA still live strong.

Also, this guy is their mayor...

If we're being real the Clippers should move. California has too many damn sports teams, L.A. loves the Lakers period, the Clippers have no history the best team they've ever assembled might be broken up. They are trying to move to Inglewood now :bryan:

Also, a lot of y'all forget what the attendance was like in the last few years at Key Arena. Despite that they need a team because Seattle is the fastest growing city in the nation, is an absolute hot bed for NBA level talent, and the Sonics are a historic franchise, team was just cool. I can't wait until Russell leaves Oklahoma City and that shyt falls apart.

You might die waiting then :ld: trust and believe there's not that much going on out here that would prevent fans from showing up to the games. Attendance was the exact same despite kd leaving

And they had a much better name than the Thunder. Supersonics is a good team name. I didn't want to see them leave Seattle.
