Here's a brief history.
NOTE: I only learned about this sequence of events about 3 weeks ago.

In 2009, pretty 20yo AfAm dancer/actress/college student Asia Mcgowen was killed by her male, afAm, mentally unstable YouTube stalker. Asia knew that some anonymous youtuber(s) posted hateful comments below her videos, but she did not know that it was this crazy, murderous classmate whom she had declined to date. The murder-suicide created awful media attention for YouTube.

Shortly thereafter, an organized group of black female youtubers WHO HAD BATTLED SWP & HIS FANS WHILE ASIA MCGOWEN WAS STILL ALIVE complained to YouTube admin that vloggers like SWP made them feel threatened & intimidated.

The highly publicized murder-suicide + multiple/many complaints induced YouTube admins to ban SWP. Both SWP and the murderer had ranted AGAINST BLACK WOMEN IN PARTICULAR in multiple video clips. Many other ranting black men took notice and began to post more respectful video conmentary about race & relationships in order to avoid being banned.

In conclusion, YouTube admins made an example of ringleader SWP. But some of the eulogy/tribute videos honoring him are hilarious. :-P

(VARIOUS & SUNDRY FORMS of hate speech videos are still posted on YouTube. They just result in few views and few complaints, so YouTube admin let 'em live.)

they tried it in 2017 too. One guy (Obsidian) went in on some big time Black female attorney with connections to Google, and they came after dozens of Black male youtubers. They failed though
