none of them, they all grew idolizing the original 'P'. got love for Styles and Prodigy, but this guy got them into hiphop

:wow: what a way to open the thread up with great answers I wasn't even thinking of brehs... :mjcry:

I actually came in here wondering who the hell OP was gonna say was the other "P" :russ:

You think people idolized Parrish Smith that much?

Rakim was first with that type of style, and honestly I can't think of anything Parrish Smith did better than Rakim.
of course. EPMD is one of the greatest rap groups of all time... a lot of people grew up to EPMD like religion.

Only problem is that on they broke up at first in '93 before most of these other P's even came out. You gotta be a little older to truthfully appreciate EPMD's wave - not the music though

sure, EPMD was everything to late 80s east coast hiphop. actually saw a joint Styles/EPMD show this summer, Styles said they were the reason he started to rhyme (along with G Rap)

EPMD is historic and legendary, but PMD by himself? People weren't rocking PMD when they split, no way to really sugar coat it. Erick had all the flavor. PMD switched up his rap style and everything, but he wasn't popping anymore. I don't think you can compare him to guys like Prodigy, Styles P & Sean P that come from groups, but also carved out their own identities as soloists.
They are all legends, but I can't just automatically put PMD above them because he came first.

When Epmd was together before the split everybody fukked wit Pmd more than Erick. P was murking Erick on the mic

When they broke up and people seen that Erick was the man when it came to producing the love went to him

But they was more legendary together

Master P by miles.

  • Dude saved the rap game by making the independent route a gold mine.
  • Over 50 million records sold without help from the label
  • Tun a simple mom and pops store into a multi million dollar label
  • Stuck Priority Records up for majority of the percentage in creative control and ownership for his label
  • Ice Cream Man>>>>>>HNIC
But on a lyrical tip...

Master P>>>>>Master P
