adam sandler has always been a decent bet to crack 100mil.

he's put his happy madison studio in a position to make movies for him and his buddies.

can't really hate on his lil empire :manny:

just watching the trailer to 47 ronin.. i don't get how this cost 225 mil :mindblown:

that's an avengers sized budget. :bryan:

with a movie like john carter.. i could see how it'd cost a shyt ton of money.. even though i thought it was a bad decision.

but 47 ronin..?

i think i'll enjoy the movie.. i just can't help but think the dudes in charge of this project were like "we fukked up. we're never gonna find work again.. let's split up this 100 mil right here and :eat:"

Adam Sandler's production company Happy Madison produces his movies. He then casts himself and/or his friends so they are all getting paid by their own company regardless of whether the movie flops or not.

But his movies actually tend to make over $100 million in the US alone, so with a controlled budget under that amount they only need to make an additional $100 million worldwide to break even at the box office, which they consistently do (and often even profit). All the money they make after that (dvd sales, rentals, VOD, etc.) is just added money to their pockets.

Ok then bad money example, good critical example. Learn something new everyday :manny:

BETTER example would be whoever's still making those garbage "Scary Movie" joints...you know the ones...:snoop:

Is the film that bad?

its eh like its missing something, not worth the ten really...the battle/action sequences are pretty awful. A waste of such a classic tale. should have either had a japanese director do it or an experienced director. I knew it would be terrible when they had to create a lead character...
