It's the obvious question. Everyone knows why the Republicans voted no.
I'd honestly like to know. My first guesses are that some are ideologically committed to "can only toss someone after they've been convicted", and others just don't want to set a precedent where they might be expelled too. But I'm guessing there are other explanations I can't think of.
Saying, "It's better for the Dems if he stays" isn't a viable answer to me because he wouldn't have gone whether or not those Dems voted no, so why give the Republicans extra cover?

I think the Repubs from NY jumped the gun because that Ethics investigation is due to be released sometime before Thanksgiving.
this is beyond disturbing they dont wanna expel a man who's blatantly corrupt and untrustworthy and he's still there...
