Nic Cage was and can be a good actor
Even Keanu has had good moments (In terms of not just being himself and trying I'd say he was alright in the Gift as the a$$hole husband, I think he tried in that one its really on if the audeince accepted)

i think there was just period where it was cool to hate cage. reeves is the clear choice for me. ive never seen him in anything where i just thought he was great in it. but that isnt to saw he hasnt been in some great films. i should note i am not a fan of matrix franchise.

I gotta go with Keanu can. . Matrix wasn't a good franchise because Keanu acting skills. It's the lore, story characters, visuals, wirework, etc. I give him Devil's Advocate & Constantine & couple others. Didn't even realize he was in the Dracula movie I've always hated.
Yes Cage has put out duds & I hate how he did Ghost Rider among others. But they both have. I fukk with the first 'Speed" but "Gone in 60" more. I don't think I saw anyone bring up 8MM. Nick got shyt I like just based off his performance more than Keanu. I don't give him a Matrix pass when his actual acting wasn't impressive.

I dont think Keanu has enough range to be considered for a role like tiger king or any character actor type of role like Nic Cage.
