With micheal b, outside of the 2 creed movies, black panther an fruitvale station (which he was great in all of those)
What other opportunities has he been given to show range..
He cant help those he gets chosing for if that's how they want him to play the characters which were valid for the characters he was playing.
As for jamie, he's an oscar winner.
He was good in baby driver
He was great in "ray" won the oscar
Great in d'jango
He has already shown range and variety but he also has been given more opportunities to do so then micheal b.

Why put in all the work to become the person he became in The Soloist to not only not get the big check an action movie gets, but to not only not be recognized for it, when he can just star in mainly action movies that don't require much and get a fatter check.

Didn't know about this movie til now but they've both headlined movies solo so I guess it really doesn't seem like too far of a reach.
