Big had the ticket strapped to his back. Momentum was crazy.

very good year
but it’s not close to biggie’s ‘95

Depends what criteria you seek bro. As I said, commercially, not close. Biggie 95, DMX 98, Snoop 93 etc. all have had better years in that regard.

But when you consider that he still went platinum on the LP (an original 5 mic classic) and the EP (one of the GOAT EPs) and did work laying the foundations for the Lench Mob careers to blow up, that's very impressive imo. Biggie didn't have an album that year. Just a ton of features and that Junior MAFIA shyt etc.

Biggie by miles. If anything DMX was still thriving in 2000, while Jay Z was just hitting the radar because of Big Pimpin. In Philly, dudes were Ruff Ryding until about 2001 when the Roc really took off and this was even after Ether.

This is subjective on the generation and the demographic.

I know in Florida at 2000 Jay was a monster especially for being from NY

I understand what you mean by criteria of being commercial versus non-commercial with that said & the fact that you want to give Ice Cube credit for boosting the careers of YoYo and the Lynch Mob
I can then give credit to biggie boosting the careers of Junior Mafia particularly lil Kim and Total and basically setting Bad Boy up for the future dominance thereafter - which in a sense still makes biggie 1995 the greatest year of any rapper

I respect your opinion breh. Agree with your points but would still give Cube the nod. I still don't know tho if Cube 1990 is the best ever tho. Need to think about it.

Anyway...

:salute:
