As someone who has a developmental disability I co-sign this 100%. For the most part I've been able to overcome since I'm not as bad off as others in the same boat, I'm conscious about it and I took a lot of time to understand and work on myself so I fit in better. But a majority of these cats they have absolutely no chance of making in society no matter their how intelligent they are.

Who actually would know that one is gay or an atheist unless they were advertising it? And if they are advertising their preferences or beliefs like that, its probably in poor taste anyway...and probably why they are overlooked.

The obese can lose weight. Even if they don't, I know plenty of overweight professionals.

Discrimination in my opinion should be applicable to ONLY acceptable norms in society that people have issues with.

Way too broad a definition. I could use this to discriminate against any and everybody. I suppose we could go on like this forever. If you believe you are justified in your 'non'-discrimination against gays you need to a stronger definition than this. In 20 years whether you are for it or not, being gay will be an acceptable norm and threads like this almost irrelevant. Will you change your opinion then?
