Khabib will beat Tony, the longer it takes to make that fight, the greater the odds are in Khabib's favour, Tony ageing and is injury prone - never mind the fact that Khabib is a monster. Khabib might retire undefeated but mainly because he clearly will not be around as an active fighter much longer. He has 3/4 fights left - Dustin, Tony, Conor rematch and then GSP. Outside of that Max, Gaethje or Gillespie all offer intriguing matchups but will have to do something amazing for those fights to even happen ahead of those named above.

Jones won't lose at 205 but if he goes up, those chicken legs are food, he knows that too hence the hesitancy to move up. He won't even fight DC at heavyweight, a man he has 'beaten' twice. Ngannou (size and power alone), Stipe, DC all have great chance so beating Jones at heavyweight. Father time is undefeated too, Jones might decide to stay at 205 and carry on beating up washed middleweights, but one day he will get sloppy or underestimate a Reyes and lose. Rockhold would've been interesting a few years ago. Weidman should retire before thinking about stepping in there with Jones

I don't see Ferguson controlling the fight to beat khabib
That dude is a different type of monster styles make fight so who knows
I don't think he'll control the fight in a conventional sense but he does not gas and I think he's willing to engage and fight off his back in an aggressive and effective way that is rare (ie. sharp elbows), and none of Khabib's opponents have done that to him yet. Most end up turtling or getting punished with leg rides or wrist rides as he delivers the smesh.

An underrated aspect too is Tony's leg entanglements. Khabib doesn't shoot in a conventional sense so a lot of Tony's darce, marce, guillotine, and Japanese necktie setups won't be as available. People are overlooking his somersault leg entries from being body locked, and Khabib loves those upper body tie ups such as the body lock. I'm not saying Tony will win via heel hook or other type of foot lock, but leg entanglements create distance for him to throw elbows or other strikes from. And I don't think Tony will win by sub but I could see him threatening sub attempts enough to advance good position or escape bad position.

Khabib and Tony each have very weird stand up and no one talks about how odd Khabib's striking is, and I think it's hard to predict how their striking will look against each other until they get in there together. And keep in mind we've seen Khabib slow down even when he's winning handily. Not by much but by a little. I've never seen Tony slow down. Granted, Khabib is a different type of pressure.

I still favor Khabib but this fight (if it happens) is going to be closer than people think. I used to think Tony would get merked by Khabib stylistically but the more I re-watch previous fights from both guys I think Tony is the only guy at 155 that has a chance at beating Khabib at all.

EDIT: leg entanglement (saddle to inside heel hook) versus body lock example time-coded for you.

I want to see Walker fight Rakic before they give him the "Dethrone of Bones" moniker.

I really need to think about Dustin vs. Khabib in terms of how Dustin can get the W. But I do think Tony can get him.

If either of them get injured and have to be out of the ring for a while they will get beaten

And anyone in the UFC can get flash ko'd.

Jon Jones off steroids is clearly beatable because otherwise why would he need to be taking steroids so religiously

Yeah Tonon is on another level than Tony. I was just posting an example of a techique that Tony and Tonon both like a lot, and I do think it's an effective and underused strategy. If Khabib gets a body lock on your you're going down eventually. But if you're familiar with those leg entanglements then at least you can go ahead and go down on your terms rather than his.

If he’s clearly beatable why hasn’t he been beaten?
