He’s going through some Mental health shyt. He made it seem like he asked for this in his statement.
Why release him though? Cutting their loses this early? Something had to happen before this right?

Hope he didn't do something crazy that he can't come back from and is using this as an excuse. Either way the Knicks don't have enough minutes to go around, especially when Grimes gets back.

That’s a good point. He could have just been getting treatment while on payroll. This just sounds heartless by the spurs if he didn’t do anything.

I remember spending a few too many posts hoping we could trade up for Sharpe because I didn't think 4 was attainable. The Blazers are one of those teams that always seem to take the guys I like (Memphis and New Orleans too).
For me it’s definitely the Pelicans. Since Zion they just keep adding talent I wish the Knicks drafts.

nah from Larry Sanders to Royce White for mental issues it’s best if a player focuses on that exclusively. The NBA requires so much mental focus and also has so many temptations and distractions on the periphery with endorsements, competition, and thirsty hoes… it makes sense he left. There are some mental diseases you just can’t get treatment for, it’s a life long affliction. Spurs letting him keep his money was them looking out.

If he gets his head together teams will peep. He’s young enough he could still be added to a young core and develop.

So we gotta wait January every year for RJ to look good out there? :why:
This narrative isn’t exactly true…I personally see it as an apologist narrative from his stans or wishful thinking on some “he just starts slow” shyt.

He actually shot well from three to start the season in his rookie and junior seasons. He was awful his second year and is awful this year to start. In a season from month to month you don’t know what shooter you will get.

A spade just needs to be called a spade. He isn’t a good shooter and runs wildly hot and cold and is at his best as a stationary corner catch and shoot guy. He’s not a strong pull up shooter or off screen, pin downs, or movement, he can’t hit shyt top of the break.

He’s not that guy and Knicks fans are gonna have egg on their face.

Looking at some hustle stats

Barrett has zero steals and 6 deflections through 5 games :snoop:

Hartenstein is leading the league in box outs with Robinson at number 5

Brunson is 6th in contested threes and 8th in charges he does some things on defense

Quickley 9th in deflections per 36 minutes. I swear that line-up with Quick, Reddish, and Toppin is every where on defense getting deflections, scooping up loose balls, and playing up and down

Cavs push pace. So if he can't score 25 tonight, I dunno what to tell these dudes.

4-17 with a day off just ain't gonna cut it tonight. But that's what's likely to happen.
