The pacers are the sixth worst team in the league. Guys have been looked off before for a losing record. It definitely felt like the bullshyt “Is that your chick” Barnes started made it easier for coaches to ignore the Pacer’s crap record and reward Tyrese.

Not just for scoring but for winning Brunson deserved the nod over Tyrese

I doubt it next year, and could see it in 2024. No team wants to trade with the Knicks, I have my beliefs on why, but regardless I doubt a traditional trade happens.

I could see them moving RJ and other pieces to either create some cap space or in a sign and trade for a star. For that level of players it would make sense that it would be the 2024 FA class. Next year’s FA suck.

I think the writing is on the wall for Obi and they will use him and the Mavs draft pick to swap to a higher draft pick.

They announced that he is coming back after the all star break.
The Pacers were overachieving and in the playoff race for much of the year. It's injuries (including ones to Haliburton) that have knocked them out the playoff race. Like I said its difficult to look at the numbers both box score and analytics and say Tyrese shouldn't be in the All-Star game.

Also, I don't believe "no team" want to trade with the Knicks that's that woe is me shyt. We just got Josh Hart. We didn't get Mitchell because Utah ultimately made a better offer. Hard to trade for stars when you're dangling RJ Barrett and trying to hoard picks.

You’re as good as your record and the Pacer’s suck. They have some interesting pieces but Tyrese didn’t deserve the nod with the pacers having a losing record. They doubled down and gave it to Siakim too. My take is they are spreading all star nods as a reward to teams for not tanking. Only the top three teams (and now top two teams) have multiple all stars.

Also using Josh Hart as an example of teams being open to trade with the Knicks isn’t as great an example as you’re implying. Most teams sent out a bunch of seconds the Knicks had to trade a first. Everyone tries to overcharge the Knicks because for a long time that was the one thing they were reliable at… being robbed.

Now can you argue Hart is worth a protected first? Maybe, we have to see, but the market showed a bunch of second rounders could get deals done too.

The only way the Knicks get a star player will be a S&T trade where the player is adamant they are going to the Knicks regardless or FA as a signing. Brunson is the blueprint for how they will need to move, and the next time that can happen is 2024, because this summers FA sucks.

The Pacers did not suck for a majority of the season...they dipped under .500 once Haliburton went down which shows the massive impact he has on that team. Last time we faced the Pacers there was like a game separating us and that wasn't too long ago. He is an All-Star and deserves to be in the game, I also love Brunson, but Haliburton is the superior player outside of half court scoring.

The Knicks traded for Josh Hart, an in his prime, high end role player, who seems ecstatic to be a Knick. Not a malcontent, washed Jae Crowder. Or an injured GPII that’s only had one good season in the league. So yes, he is worth a first round pick, to me there isn't much difference between 5 second rounders and 1 first round pick in value. There is also a greater chance that whoever is drafted doesn't end up being as good as Hart. I wouldn't be surprised if among the second rounders a better player is selected than whoever that first rounder ends up being. I would have hated to be outbid for Hart just because of pick hoarding.

I also think grimes will be fine. Thibs loves grimes and is the reason many trades haven’t happened since the Knicks are unwilling to trade him

McBride is done for though in my opinion and I expect RJ’s minutes to go down as well

It’s all situational tho

They were like 22-18 when the voting was decided to be fair. They fell off a cliff when he got hurt and haven’t recovered when he got back. It looks real bad now though…

I do believe that if the numbers were identical and so were the rosters and wins, but Brunson was in Indiana and Hali was in NY, he doesn’t get in.

Yeah, when you talk about someone that was indefinitely valuable to their team.

He was that guy. They were right there fighting with us for the 6th spot and then he got injured against us at MSG the night we beat them. Ever since then it’s been brutal for them.

One thing to remember about that first rounder we traded, is currently we have the Mavericks pick and it's slotted in the late teens( like our pick is), and we have Washington's pick which will convey if they make the playoffs (which they have a semi decent chance of doing). There is no way we're gonna absorb 2 to 3 rookies into the roster next year, so a pick had to get traded at some point. With that said, I'm not mad at what we paid for Hart at all.

Not only that, but if we happen to miss the playoffs it turns into 4 first rounders instead of the 5 that lesser players were being traded for. We did good.

Spread Love - The Player Way

We got to see:francis:

There might be someone else on a losing team doing things :patrice:

yal gotta be realistic about the knicks as a 7th seed and not getting 2 all stars.
if anything jb is the more deserving player on the knicks to be an all star over randle...but because he didnt get the nod....guards like garland with similar stats and a better record will get priority.
counting stats matter(look at randle) and atlanta doesnt have an all star at all...and they're around 500 so a case for trae can be made.
the sixers have a top 3 record in the east while harden is averaging 20 and 10. that's also a realistic case
derozan shouldnt be in the all star game but ...counting stats.
heat have a similar record and jimmy butler has comparable stats.
east is just loaded in guards...and trying to leverage the knicks winning doesnt mean much at 3-4 games over 500.
