I'm not gonna stress it until a deal actually happens and I see the picks. I don't think I'm gonna like it based on the rumors. But if it's a couple of protected picks and one unprotected or something, then I'm cool with that.

i doubt it’s that friendly, though we can hope. However, this is what I meant about KD being on the market increasing the value of draft picks. That first offer from the Knicks of three picks I think 1 unprotected and two protected got laughed at, but that is a legit offer for OG. I don’t think any of the other teams in the rumor can come near to that offer. However, Masai might have not taken it regardless because he doesn’t want to help the Knicks get better.

Now if KD is on the market Toronto is a lot more open to those draft picks because they need to combine Picks with Scottie Barnes to send to Brooklyn for KD. Masai fukked up last time not trading for KD. That’s what the Nets said they wanted to Scottie Barnes and draft picks.

There is a chance Toronto doesn’t even look at the Knicks offer before KD potentially became available because they are in the same division. A chance to trade for KD is the incentive to not be a prick. Masai going all in on FVV, Siakim, and KD is the smartest move for Toronto to become contenders again and Masai knows it.

That rumored OG trade would give the Raptors three picks to add to their own draft and I think would make them the favorites to pull off a KD trade. They could easily send 6 draft picks for him and some swaps and not curse their franchise. The best way to test this theory is if they don’t ask for the Knicks 2023 or Mav 2023 picks. That means they aren’t looking for young players, they are looking for trade assets they can use this Summer on chasing KD.
