they don't lack talent, which is why everyone thinks they're tanking. They lack the ability to get talent elsewhere to complete the team, which is why they don't wanna go for it until they do.
Good luck. SGA is maxed up and anything you could give them won't allow them to replace SGA because the PG class outside of Scoot SUCKS for the next 2 years.
If you have a PG, hold onto him for the next 2 years unless you're hellbent on Scoot/Terquavion Smith. If you can't get them, you're better off finding a scrappy yet talentless PG who plays hard. Luckily for the Knicks they got their guy so they don't have to worry about this.
