For cap purposes the Knicks did gain a 6.9 million dollar trade exemption. We also have another 4.5 biannual trade exemption (11.4 million in total).

Fournier 17 million dollar expiring is still there.

most teams do not run 2 power forwards and 2 center rotations.
they usually have 2 PF's and 1 Center and or vice versa
we need to just give torey craig some money over some god damn DDV. big 3/4 that shoots 40 percent from 3 especially from the corners
we're talking about replacing 12-14 minutes of back of powerforward that most teams play small ball at anyway

he's a journeyman defender that can hit an open 3. it'll give us positional versality because we have NO WINGS

I can't think of many fa's left that'd be good back-up PF's and fit in our price range. Maybe take a flier on Trendon Watford who's young and didn't look bad in Portland. Randle plays 90% of the time, which will discourage any decent options.

A heavily protected 1st is a sexier headline than two 2nds but they amount to the same thing, and that's the going rate for young pieces who no longer fit in your plans due to some combination of a logjam + poor play/not enough minutes. Same thing the Hawks flipped Huerter and Reddish for.

RJ should be the back up 4. Not saying he comes off the bench. But he should be subbed out first, and subbed back in for Randle. Then slide back when Randle comes back in.
