It just occurred to me that show has never had a strong dominant black male on it. Bob was a fiend, Tyrese was a wuss, T-Dogg was a follower not a leader, and Morgan is not a leader(not a follower either) but not a leader, and Dre from Compton and the Preacher are confused and often weak.

But Rick, Darryl, Abraham, and Glenn are all Leaders. And none of the black characters have been really given screen time this season either. And all the minorities are in relationships with white people.

Show is low key racist.
Shyt, even the female characters have been portrayed as leaders above the black male characters.

No body though, am I the only one that's :patrice: about how these strong black women are being reduced to bedwenches? I am actually prepared for michonne to die if it means I don't have to see her and rick. And the way sasha just submitted to Abe was so sad, I hope these sudden hookups are foreshadowing the inevitable loss
I took a peek inside a thread about this made on LSA. Most of them were ecstatic.:mjpls:

Don't believe for a moment that these pairings between black female/white male characters are pandering solely to white male fantasies.

This season has been great so far but this episode was kinda of a let down after the last few.

Denise was just annoying. Especially with her trying to get that cooler and struggling with the zombie was retarded. I was actually relieved when she got the arrow through the eye. I was tuning out during her speech. I understand she's the only doctor in Alexandria but good riddance.

I couldn't take any scene with Abraham and Eugene seriously at all. Idk if that was the intention but the dialogue felt like 2 country singers throwing random lyrics at each other.

I do like how there's the feeling that the group is never safe. I know it's always been like that but this season has taken it up a notch. The saviors are a constant threat and they can show up at any time to wreck shyt. It makes me wonder if Rick and crew felt like their job was done after last episode and they really killed all of the saviors. Daryl and Rosita were way too lax walking around with Denise with a serious threat like Negan still out there. So idk if Dwight showing up was a wake up call for them. Rick needs to wisen up and do it quick.

My moment of extreme disbelief this week was how Denise has been in Alexandria for probably 2 years and never mentioned a pharmacy full of medicine to anyone. A pharmacy that just happened to be in walking distance.

Also Daryl and Rosita should be dead in that fire fight. They way they shot it, it was obvious they were trying to hide the fact that there was no way they could get to a gun and get back to cover in time to survive that shoot out but oh well.

I can think of only one: Hawk. He was a character from this private investigator show called: Spenser For Hire. He got his own spin off show called: A Man Called Hawk. It only lasted one season because of the reasons you mentioned in your post. A strong, intelligent, unapologetic Black man on the screen like that won't last. And he had a predominantly Black side characters on their too. Get a look at his character:

:ohhh: Never was aware of that character. I heard the name Spencer for Hire but never saw the show.

That Hawk dude has maaad quoteables tho.. :dead:
"You keep charging at me we gon be all up in a nursery rhyme."

:dwillhuh:

Old school... but I can dig it.

Yeah he was the 80's Shaft. It's a shame his show didn't take off but it's expected

One of the goat black characters. My dad used to watch this show and would talk about Hawk all the time. Said he knew the cacs weren't gonna let him stay on TV after this exchange:

CAC: You're coming with me Hawk
HAWK: Why?
CAC: cause I got the gun
*Hawk snatches the gun from the cac*

HAWK: Now I got the gun
CAC::sadcam:

:salute: to Hawk
