If this doesn't show people what it is with college athletics nothing will

As if we didn't know anyway, they just want your black ass there in their institutions based strictly off your entertainment value for them.

This bill summed up: "we're giving you people access to our colleges so you need shut up, entertain us, and take whatever we give you or get the fukk out"

What else can be said that hasn't already been said about them, they have been and will continue to draw clear lines in the sand. It's up to the individual to see it for what it is

This.

If they pass this bill the players should really protest and not play. Just imagine the revenue lost from not playing 1 season. Politicians should be focusing on other things, not college sports.

NCAA knows that the day the have to start paying these student athletes, the power and wealth gap in this country will dramatically shift. That's the real reason they don't want to come up off what they owe.

I knew this bill wouldn't pass but props to those kids for sticking up strong. This is just a fraction of the power that black people hold so let's hope this starts lighting a fire or a lighting a bulb in the heads of more black people.

White supremacy never sleeps, brehs and brehettes...

If you recall, in November, students began levying criticism against former university president Tim Wolfe for his handling of racist incidents on campus. The protests drew significant media attention when Jonathan Butler, a 25-year-old graduate student, declared that he would go on a hunger strike, in response to the racially charged incidents, until Wolfe resigned. The football team’s coach, Gary Pinkel, admitted that the decision to boycott stemmed from Butler’s hunger strike. Wolfe almost immediately resigned as theprotest/boycott received national attention and started fukking up the university's athletic program's cash flow.

As a response to the protest/boycott against former university president Wolfe orchestrated by the black University of Missouri football players, Republican lawmaker Rick Brattin proposed a bill that aims to strip scholarships from college athletes who refuse to play for non-health related issues.

"According to the pre-filed bill, if it is enacted, any “college athlete who calls, incites, supports, or participates in any strike or concerted refusal to play a scheduled game shall have his or her scholarship revoked”. Additionally, the bill continues, “any member of a coaching staff who encourages or enables a college athlete to engage in behavior” prohibited under the bill “shall be fined by his or her institution of employment”.

Bill sponsor state representative Rick Brattin proposed to have legislation enacted by August 2016, prior to the
start of next year’s college football season.

The university doesn’t receive state funds to operate athletic programs, according to the University of Missouri’s
student-athlete handbook. “[T]hus, similar to private business, the Mizzou Athletics Department must operate solely from what revenue it generates,” the handbook states."

If this bill passes through Missouri's House of Representatives and ultimately becomes a law, college athletes will lose their scholarships if they ever go on strike.

This is what white supremacy looks like.

No surprise, Missouri is an extremely racist state. This isn't even the most sick bill they recently passed. @Trill Russell
