A good portion of the black audience did not jump onto house music in the 80s because
it was perceived as a totally-gay music subculture during the height of the AIDS/HIV crisis.

Ironically, house music comes from the Bronx deejay culture that produced Hip Hop.

Frankie Knuckles and Larry Levan were from the Bronx.

Frankie moved the Greenwich Village club music culture to Chicago, and the house music genre grows
from that.

Black folks in Europe still rock with house and Tech music. We move on to the next thing once it gets watered down. Outside of the sound design a lot of the new house melodies and drums are too repetitive and a lot of electronic djs are just playlist button pushers. But yeah people still like house. Kaytranada had a nice run. XXYYXX was another guy into like that sound I think he's from here too.

What?

We created house and let it slip away.

I think this is because we've historically focused on creating new forms of music expression.

Just like we used to create new clothing fashions on the regular.

For some reason, this process is not happening the way it used to.

The most recent forms of popular black music categories have been Hip Hop/Rap (approx 45 years old), house/techno (approx 35 years old) and go-go (approx 50 years old).

What new, major form of black music has been created since house over thirty years ago, in the fine tradition
of continual black music creativity?
