could y’all sway Clemson’s coach? He’s found himself a nice low pressure job in an easy conference with fertile recruiting grounds...

Dabo? Naa. But Venebles might be an option. He's probably the best DC in the country. I'm sure he's got the connects to bringin an elite OC. He knows how to recruit, and to make the transition even easier, we've got tons of churches in Ann Arbor for him to choose from. All denominations too. :sas2:

I don't think Peterson ever leaves the west coast. Great coach tho. And I honestly don't know who we'd target. Urban would be legit. The fukkery. The (instant) success. The rivalry renewed. All the shyt talking. We recruit well, but he'd take it to another level, and he'd bring the best assistants with him.

The only names I can think of off the top of my head:

Matt Campbell - ISU coach. Everyone thinks he's got next in the coaching world. I'm not sold.
PJ Fleck - MINN coach. Meh as fukk.
Derek Mason - VANDY coach. He's black so it'll never happen.
Matt Rhule - BAYLOR coach. He seems to have it all clicking right now. I don't know much about him.
Dino Babers - SYRACUSE coach. (See Derek Mason)
Bob Stoops - Retired Oklahoma coach. I'd be down. Apparently he wants back in the game. He can recruit. And his teams would be fun to watch.
Campbell would be a solid hire. He's proven he can consistently win with inferior talent and he's an Ohio product so that's all that matters. He could poach from Ohio while Ohio State recruits nationally.

End of the day he's a tactician and a good game day coach. That's what you need at Michigan right now. That's still not enough to beat Ohio State but y'all nikkas need to re-solidify yourselves as the clear 2nd best team in the Big 10. Having the same record as Michigan State every year is not what's up in the streets.

Losing to ND next weekend is really gonna set things off to another level.

Dunno who the next coach will be but I'd imagine it won't be the clear cut best choice that people want (Stoops?). This issue is not gonna be fixed by a regular hire, you need to hit it out the park...but the problem is that everyone thought we hit it out the park last time. It's simple to me. To win the Big Ten or get to the college playoff, you have to beat OSU...and nobody is consistently beating them right now, and we're not even competing on their level. So whoever comes in next is gonna have their success capped by that off top. Throw in Notre Dame, PSU, Wisconsin, etc and you got potential Ls on the schedule yearly unless you build this thing right....and have a staff capable of actually taking advantage of decent recruiting.

There is no easy answer when it comes to hiring a new Coach for Michigan.

Harbaugh wins 10 games a year every year, which is hard to just go out and replace.

I get that Michigan holds itself to a extremely high standard. But you can end up looking even dumber when the replacement coach does worse then harbs.:francis:

You're right, but either we risk 'looking even dumber' or deal with mediocrity until Harbaugh kicks the bucket. :francis:

You cant tell me that if we bring in a Bob Stoops, that this program would look worse. Harbaugh just is what he is. A fixer, and a maintainer. He's not a winner. He'll come in and turn around the WORST of programs within a couple of years. But he'll never be elite. That much is clear.
