No, We don't. 400 years of slavery Jim Crow redlining and de facto segregation would do that to you.

If we don't empathize with each other, we're finished as a group. It's scary and sad at the same time.

You would think more of us would be understanding of why someone would do drugs in America. Considering our history. But instead you get people like @Lifejennings and @Shook

Maybe, but for some of us too many of us this is how they did with being black in America. Taking dope to numb some of the pain. Look I haven't how many threads you see on the coli about smoking this and taking that I think it's pretty sad but obviously this is how a whole lot of us cope.
As far as myself I'm anti drug and don't drink much, but I understand that some people need an outlet. My only thing is to do it responsibly and keep control of life.

One doesn't have to look to far in "urban" american cities to see what the destruction of drugs and alcohol have had on the black community.

Things like homelessness,untreated forms of mental illness and the other harsh realities of life would lead most people to drug use and alcoholism.
