It just occurred to me that alpha men generally have the most sex (if only as a function of hitting on more women) and that street harassment is likely an extreme example of alpha behavior (for only an alpha, but not all alphas, engage in consistent street harassment). In study, both explicitly and implicitly, women generally find the stereotypically masculine men the most attractive. So when women say they want a beta, they are just capitulating to what they think society expects of them. But when they satisfy whatever basic requirements they think society requires of their mate, the women then choose the most alpha of that particular man. The reason black men are often held in disrepute isn't because of a lack of masculinity-- studies on female opinion imply that black male masculinity is actually what women want--but because many black men lack other intangibles/tangibles women desire on their own or because society deems they should want it in a man. Non-black group can influence what these tangiblies/intangibles are by imposing their values/expectations/presence (i.e. black dudes are dumb; overrated; etc). So Black men need *more* than other men to get to the *same level*, especially when dealing with very high level women, because those women need more than *masculinity* to walk around with that man.
