I should have clarified both sides as black men and women. The points made by men that this is a tool used to paint primarily black males as criminals and the point some of the female posters made that this does show that there is a real street harassment problem, one that I admittedly did not and still don't to a certain extent acknowledge.
What street harassment problem? I'm pretty sure some of the stuff people are saying to argue for street harassment are already illegal.
Someone grabbed your ass? Well that's already illegal and you shouldn't lump that in with catcalling and other stuff.
Someone is following you? Well you can call the police seeing how stalking is illegal already.
But hey if someone thinks lobbying for this street harassment bullshyt to become a law then by all means do so, but don't lump in things that are already illegal to try and strengthen your point, it's silly.
