If you've seen SFC, you know that the conflict involving the Black crews was only one part of the story. Unless the film script copies a particular crime case from HP, it looks like any other friction that pops up between rival crews in any part of the country.
I used to watch these street tale hood dvds, not familiar wit this one. Thanks for the heads up. Only noteworthy one I remember was

You're saying conflicting things. You're saying that Spike needed several passes to film the movie. You're saying that the people calling shots in the area made him put details of THEIR conflicts into the film as a condition of it being filmed there.

AND you're saying that it copies the locally produced dvd which chronicled the same conflicts????

Ever since the homeless RV craze, theres been a GANG of people leaving trash on the street here in Berkeley.

Whole bags just dumped on the sidewalk, clothes and trash strewn across the street.

He's not copying the dvd, he's including details of the same events covered by that dvd.From your last post, it seems like Spike's people HAD to put those details in the film to avoid problems.

Seems like the guys calling the plays in the City wanted representation AND taxation. The street dvd made them notorious/infamous, the SFC put money in their pockets.

It wasnt a strong-arm per say ..Spike just making sure everyone was covered I guess . Plus there were politics involved from the mayors office and so forth . The movie is pretty deep and was a precursor to whats happening now in SF is my analysis . But I can see what youre saying also and offering new and different perspectives for me on that project .
