They descend from Neanderthal instead of cro magnon man. These people and their recessive genes have inherited resentment over their previous extinction, and fear it happening again.
They are also extremely emotionally soft, they cannot handle any competition so they seek to try and eliminate it and give themselves advantages while claiming they're being fair.
There is a mutation in them that prevents them from ever accepting humanity specifically when they are around each other to culturally express their contempt for humans and desire to deal with the threat. On their own, they're fine. As a group, they are a destructive virus that tries to destroy everything that represents any other form of life that is acceptable to them. They hunt animals to extinction, they purposefully kill other human beings for the crime of existing and wanting to be treated with dignity and respect. They enjoy feeling like everyone is beneath them and the irony is that they are still pathetic and hollow inside even after getting everything they want. That hollowness turns inward sinks, causing them to become
self destructive seeking to cause harm to themselves because that's all whos left for them to target.
TL;DR: it's what they say about us. Their genes and culture are destructive.
