Whiplash is the most intense movie I've ever seen

It's a sports movie set in a music environment, I think Chazelle said as much. Doesn't take anything away from it.

It is probably anachronistic when you consider the state of jazz today, but pretty sure this dude is who Simmons was evoking

Whiplash has me squirming in my seat the whole time. Amazing directing

I finally watched this shyt. I’m on a plane right now. Movie was so intense I kept WISHING it would end. That final drum solo had me like “that’s enough Andrew! Quit while you’re ahead!”

Yea I think think this movie is a classic. The acting and cinematography help add to the uncomfortable atmosphere. Which is to say nothing about the amazing soundtrack.
