Same could be said for this woman. She was lecturing black people about black hair care. And I'm pretty sure her whiteness slipped out a few times and she may have said or done some slick things to her black peers or black students.

nah the logic I was applying was to us as people and the media. I'm not gonna try and figure out the logic of why this woman is doing what she's doing.... off general knowledge sofar it doesn't seem like it wasn't out of hate, or for money really. I dont really care i guess is what it comes down too, what she is doing doesn't compare to a fraction of what going on with these cops and other things.... I'm more upset at how us as black people are handling it, and how we are totally following the media and letting it direct our attention.

Some of the statements uttered in the Rachel Dolezal thread were truly disheartening, disappointing, and disgusting.

If you constantly have to ask your oppressor to help you not be oppressed, you will continue to be oppressed.

Basically, to me...saying that you need help from whites for black causes is not akin to saying "we need allies"...it's you saying "we can't do anything for ourselves and we're just not good enough to get anything done." It's pretty much saying that..."their ice is just colder cause...it is". Without any reasoning behind it.

I've said it before...I'll say it again. RACISM IS NOT BLACK FOLKS RESPONSIBILITY.

We don't own the banks. We don't control the stocks and bonds. We don't control the federal reserve. We own less than 10 television channels combining local and nationally syndicated networks in this country. We aren't the majority or even a fraction of the CEOs of the businesses in this country. We don't have lobbyists in our corner. Or the courts. There are very few of us in positions to get black men and women hired but enough of us to hoot, holler, rant, and rave on social media to get people fired (only to get hired again...so what's the point?).

My gripe is this...hear me out:

Every day I go to my job on wall street, I'm happy to be working alongside other black men and women. My office is diverse...the only thing is age is where the gap is. But I constantly think to myself "wouldn't it be nice if we were actually running some thangs and stuff?"

Why are we always running to them to help us with stuff that we could of already done on our own? It basically reaffirms their superiority and underlying sentinment that we can't do anything by ourselves.

The MAIN problem isn't that we don't have the money...or the resources...the problem is that the majority of our people's minds are just fukked up.
