Gran Turismo has a street named after it. There were even brief talks to bring one of the original courses and build it to make it real. Kaz has a road in his honor in Spain. There's no bigger or beloved racer out there except for maybe Mario Kart.

As for RR, I think the uptempo arcade racer faded out. Need a draw, like Burnout's crashes or FH's openness.

The physics and driving in the game is trash, the drifting in Daytona USA is better than a lot of games today, the model 2 arcade board was unmatched back then, it's up for debate

Daytona USA is a legendary arcade, they even have a new arcade of it, Ridge Racer is not on it's level never was, never will be
