I'm starting to suspect it is less about his salary and more about her just wanting to do her. WOmen always need an excuse to exit.
Plus the on and off status gives her the security of knowing that he will take her back whenever she decides to come back.

Back to the money thing: Here's the problem with someone making $100K having a mate who makes $35K (and trust me: this was FUGGIN ME about 3 years ago): She wants to go to France on a whim, some once in a lifetime type shyt. He can't afford to go. She automatically has to pay for both for everything like that. Meanwhile her peers are jet setting all over like it's nothing. She's driving a new Benz, he's driving a dinged up 99 Accord. For Christmas she can afford to buy him a replacement for his 99 Accord while he gets her $400 worth of stuff. It's just lopsided. People who make $100K don't hang anywhere near people who make $35K. They go to different stores, resturaunts, vacation spots etc...
I ain't getting rich now but I experienced a significant pay increase since then. If I happen to waste $50 I don't even bat an eyelash now. At my previous pay rate I would have freaked the f*** out. They are just worlds apart. It could work if she was super gung ho about him, but look at Steadman's azz. Oprah could live hundreds of lifetimes on what she has and has no kids to worry about but she STILL won't split it with that n****.

Is is strictly about his salary or is it about the way he handles his money?
I personally wouldn't dump a dude because of his salary, but I would dump him if he does not know how to handle money (e.g. he is always broke between pay checks, doesn't know how to budget, etc). Money is one of the major reason that marriages fail; therefore, I can't be with a man who can't manage what he has.
