- Jones vs. Gustafasson/7 LHW title fight I should be much more enthuised but I think we all know how this ends.

- Barao vs. Wineland/7 Big fan of Barao but not much of a fan of the lower weightclasses so I can't get that excited

- Cain vs. JDS III/8 Should be much higher but I just see a repeat of the last one.

- Bisping vs. Munoz/6 Only for the hope Bisping gets KO'ed otherwise I dont see either as a real threat

- Machida vs. Kennedy/6 Only to see Machida at MW without that this fight really does nothing for me

- Belfort vs. Henderson/9 Fireworks all day

- GSP vs. Hendricks/9 Hendricks presents possible issues although I'm sure i'm kidding myself that's why it's not a 10. A GSP fight could never be a 10

- Sonnen vs. Rashad/9 Big fan of Rashad want to see how he looks. If I wasn't a fan this fight would be more like 7/6

- Hunt vs. Bigfoot Silva/7 For possible fun fight but I see Bigfoot overwhelming Hunt with his size.

- Weidman vs Silva II/10 Can't wait to see Silva bounce back.

- Rousey vs. Tate II/4 Really don't care

Some harsh ratings, any reasoning for them?

This thread was meant for MMA fans breh.

Gus is good and a top 5 LHW fighter. But, he's not good enough to beat Jones. Both fighters are well-rounded, but unfortunately for Gus, Jones is better everywhere.

Some harsh ratings, any reasoning for them?
1 Jones vs. Gustafasson
Gustafasson has struggled against an average wrestler in Te Hunna and was getting tagged a far amount against Shogun who had a healthy reach advantage and went fairly even with Matt Hamill. The last time he faced an elite wrestler was Phil Davis and he was manhandled. Gustafasson could get knocked out since he loves to leap in with shots and drop his hands as well. I just don't see it being much of a fight

3 Barao vs. Wineland
If the fight stays standing could be interesting , but Wineland throws zero kicks and basically just boxes guys. Barao will aim for a plan similar to what he did in his last title defense and try to force the action to the ground and control with superior technique.

5 Cain vs. JDS III
Just feel too soon. I feel on any day the fight could either be a fast knockout or a long ass whooping from Cain, but just would rather see a fresher match up since this relegates one of these guys to fringe gate keeper

1 Bisping vs. Munoz
Munoz is heavily overrated in my opinion. His wrestling doesn't translate well to MMA and he is only domiant in the clinch and or on the top in G n P. Bisping will stay on the outside and out point Munoz.
1 Machida vs. Kennedy
This just has the makings for a shyt show. Kennedy is okay at best and Machida will throw about eight strikes per round landing all of them.
2 Belfort vs. Henderson
Once again, Vitor on juice fighting a slow and over the hill Dan Henderson who simply can not handle fighters who will not stand and trade with him and move around.
10 GSP vs. Hendricks
The first round of this fight could be very interesting
1 Sonnen vs. Rashad
This is could be one of the worst match ups of the year very slow fight.
2 Hunt vs. Bigfoot Silva
Just a sloppy fight that I suspect Bigfoot will once again come out on top on. I view it as a throw away overseas card
10 Weidman vs Silva II
great match up
7 Rousey vs. Tate II
interested to see the tension after tuf

So because a fight is going to be one-sided it deserves a 1? Based on your reasoning, I don't see how you can give the aforementioned fights a 1/10. It means you pretty much have zero interest in that fight. Which is hard to believe, if you're a fan of MMA.

I am more interested in undercard matches right now for certain fights. I give one rankings for fights I could live without seeing ever or I feel I could predict the outcome.

I think I have literally just watched too many fights and just don't get as excited and I use to believe fighters would change or that a name value should get me excited and now I am just more realistic.

I could understand a low rating for Bisping/Munoz and Machida/Kennedy, but having low ratings for Belfort/Hendo, Barao/Wineland, Bones/Gus and Hunt/Bigfoot makes little sense to me.

The bolded fights have very predictable outcomes, yet still make your list. Same with Pettis vs. Grant, but to a lesser extent.

DC's first real challenge against a power puncher and with the potential distraction of other bigger fights make the fight bigger to me.

I personally think Grant will beat Pettis, he is significantly bigger than Pettis and hits just as hard. A very awkward styel

I could understand a low rating for Bisping/Munoz and Machida/Kennedy, but having low ratings for Belfort/Hendo, Barao/Wineland, Bones/Gus and Hunt/Bigfoot makes little sense to me.

Think about it this way

Vitor in Brazil do you real pick against using juice especially against a 42 year old Hendo, who simply has looked lousy since the knee injury and has in ability to close distance? It seems like Vitor will exploit speed and that if the fight is not five rounder it will be methodical, Hendo's pure toughness allows for any long fight to be interesting , but I just see it more as a cashout for Hendo. Who since fukking over the Jones vs. Hendo PPV has been pitted against match up that do not favor him stylistically.

I like Wineland and even interviewed him in April I believe , but at the same time he is very limited. He has a wrestling base, but loves to bang and I find it hard to believe his wrestling is stronger than Mayday. Wineland is at best a small version of a Chuck Liddell/Rampage Jackson type of sprawl and brawl guy who never throws any kicks. Barao is a dynamic striker who uses both kicks and punches and against the fight with Mayday showed that he will take the fight to where it best suits him. It seems like a tough test for Wineland who held his own with Faber up until the final three minutes , but conditioning cost him.I just have trouble seeing Barao not winning this fight since he can win this way in various ways and Wineland has limited prospects.

Bones/Gus just seems like a crap fight to me. Gus is average at best as I stated above he likes to double jab drop his hand and lunge out, he also has struggled with average wrestlers such as Hamill and Te Huna. It seems as though Jones will control this fight maybe the first round will have some thrills as Jones finds his range, but I give Gus about 1% chance of winning this fight. He would literally have to lunge in at the perfect time and catch Bones on the button and fold him. Jones is too smart and his wrestling is too strong.

Hunt/Bigfoot is a fight I will tune into, but it just seems like a battle of two guys on the way out called me an ass , but I lose interest in guys maybe it will change , but Bigfoot is the UFC's patsy who is the worst at that role and Hunt is beloved bar room brawler. I just seems like eh. I will tune in hope for a good fight, but I just don't feel one way or another about things change, but not excited.
