The Fantastic Four got their book cancelled, and Jean, Professor X, Wolverine, Cyclops and Deadpool are all dead in the comics. (Educate me if I'm wrong on that though)

Knowing Disney, they're not going to to let ANY character shine if they don't have the movie rights.
