Kobe would've gotten his ass whooped in that Lakers locker room :manny: And who was going to be the point guard? The Lakers would've had to change their entire offense and Identity.
And Magic/Phil Jackson would've budded heads. Magic wasn't running no triangle offense :mjlol: Phil would've probably traded him.
NEITHER would've won. Bird would've won more ring :dead:

steph didnt play until the late 2000s...end of the decade...he dont count

cp3...nash....tony parker...iverson....dwill....they could all score....a lot...

the point im trying to make is that magic wouldnt be the magic we knew...

he would have grown up during the 80s/90s...and had completely different influences on his game....
Magic’s career high in PPG (24) is higher than any of those players you named besides Iverson.

Kareem was one of the hardest workers in the game. Kobe clashed with Shaq because Kobe perceived him as lazy

nikka KOBE WANTS TO
BE THE MAN PERIOD.

THROWING THAT 04 FINALS
DIDNT HAVE shyt TO DO
WITH HARD WORK NOR LAZINESS

Great passers can play in any era. He also had the size and post game too. Many of those scoring PGs as the main options didn't win anything. Steph the outlier and he's played combo guard since Kerr took over not the traditional PG role Mark Jackson had him in.
I know, Fat magic in 96 could still play...we literally have footage. If he was in shape he could have played next season with Shaq, lol.

Anyway you slice it, Magic and Shaq.

Besides his basketball IQ, Magic is one of the greatest leaders in the history of sports. Can get the best out of his teammates. Knew which buttons to push.
Agreed.

Magic would be able to handle Shaq a LOT better than Kobe.

He would get the most out of Shaq without causing too much friction.

Flip side...I think Kareem would appreciate Kobe's early maturity. They're both very intellectual and would probably pick each other's brains for hours. They'd have a lower floor but potentially higher ceiling.

Shaq couldn't deal with past his prime Riley. What makes you think he could handle wanna be Gordon Gekko Riles?

Magic goes to 96-97 Lakers as stated by OP. Shaq not going back to the 80s...Kobe going back to the 80s.

Magic is an elite passer and can go anywhere with the ball but at what point does the Shaq fųcelery wreck the chemistry.

Magic loved to party like Shaq but he was always ready to play.

Kobe and Kareem are both focused and locked in so I gotta go with them. And Kareem was effective far longer than prime and post prime Shaq
