Al Pacino > Ron O'Neal, I prefer Scarface

Funny story about Superfly though. I saw it with my boys years ago, we were smoking and drinking so my attention wasn't 100%. Anyway, the scene after some dude tries to school Priest in a diner and he doesn't go for it. Priest starts talking to one of his crew and when he replies the voice sounds very familiar so I perked up a bit. I realize the guy he was talking to was a deacon from the Baptist Church I grew up in. It was kind of mind-blowing. lol

Superfly.
As a total package its so much better.
Mr. Mayfield :wow:

Scarface is long and drags in so many places. And I dont think its that great tbh
Superfly is dope all the way through.
Scarface only has more quotables thats it.

Superfly. Plus the gawd Curtis on the score. C’mon now. :whew:

Oscar worthy composition, damn shame he couldn’t get the deserved recognition. That was some major

I say its a tie in my book:

Love the OG Supefly to death. It had a lot of dead parts and used Curtis Mayfield performance to fill it out as a movie as it kind of ran out of stream towards the end. But the soundtrack, visuals, costume design, scoring, vibe, etc is all top tier imo.

Scarface.. Pacino bodied the role into oblivion but the overall film aged kinda bad. Outside of the opening song(the one that Mobb Deep sampled) The soundtrack and scoring is kind of awful. Its the famous quotes and violent scenes that makes this a classic
