I don't do Romcoms:trash:, so I gotta go with my GOAT film genre: Horror:ld:

...that last movies that legitimately had me shook was The Ring & Descent:bryan:

Can't even get thru the recent so-called "scary films" cuz they're such a :snooze: fest:russell:

paranormal activity (and found-footage in general) has been one of the worst influences on horror ever. so much copycat trash

Blair witch project? :scust:

I remember everyone saying it was so scary I'm in theater wondering when the scary stuff happens...needless to say the sh!t never happened :beli:

I throw "crime" into the ring. it's a pretty broad genre, but if you've seen 1 cop movie, you've basically seen em all

I'll go as far to say that if a movie poster features a character holding a handgun, it's more than likely generic bullshyt. go test my theory

I'd say horror.

I just googled the "top" horror films of 2015 which is I guess the popular ones. More than half of these on the first page are utter garbage.

"Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" :bryan:That title..
"Poltergeist" :stopitslime:
"Maggie" :hamster:
"Victor Frankenstein" :why: was this even horror?

It seems like you get one or two at most pretty solid original movies a year (It Follows, The Witch). Maybe a few way non-mainstream decent ones and then loads upon loads of shyt

nah blair witch was legendary :mjpls:

it was one of those "zeitgeist" films that captured the imagination of people in a less cynical time. one of the first examples of something going viral in the early internet days and exploding. the media campaign was nothing short of genius and the actual film is probably the best found-footage movie ever.

unfortunately it inspired a lot of crap (like paranormal activity which is its retarded offspring )
