:wtf: langston hughes was gay n i still think hes one of the greatest poets ever

aint nobody worried about nas simpin
:stopitslime:

homosexuality was 'in' the medium-world long before langston set foot on this earth. and this isn't about the status of the man in x-said era.... its about the general inferiority of the female.....

I'd say definitely Pac.

He could touch on all angles.

He wasn't strictly this or strictly that, he had the whole 360.

He could be the most intellectual/articulate, but still the most ignorant/rebellious at the same time

He understood/experienced every aspect of the game.

That's what I liked about Pac.He could sound intelligent without trying to sound intelligent. He hit you with simple truths....and he did it with a lot of clarity.

The exact opposite of what most rappers do.They like to take simple shyt and make it seem more complex in order to come off superior in some type of way.Playing them jedi mind tricks on your ass.

No other rapper fits the bill like Pac.His life was a Shakespearean tragedy.I think the people on that side would recognize Pac before any other rapper. It's basically already that way as it is

If you think about it, this question shouldn't have to be asked.

Pac already is that. The world chose him about 15 years ago. That's why he's the "Bob Marley" of rap.

yea his lyrics were def poetry

but then he also wrote real poetry in his spare time- like the poetry book that was released by his mom- the rose that grew from concrete

def agree with u about pac being the Bob Marley of rap

It depends, the audience has to be willing to look past the genre's image, no prejudice. In that case i'd compile Nas, G rap, Slick Rick, Em for storytelling. Maybe Rakim, , KRS. You'd need to categorize a little bit. Lay it out with some context.

Illmatic Nas or The Infamous era Prodigy

This...a million times. Prodigy imo was the same kind of rapper as Pac, a real street poet. His verses on the Infamous were insane and Prodigy really embodied that real grimy street dude that can put rhymes together.

I still get chills when I listen to "The Start of Your Endin'" on the Infamous, especially P's verse.

"I used to drive an Ack and kept a Mack in the engine..."

This is why I like to pretend that Prodigy died after HNIC :russ:
