I would like to see one on a comedian.

We still need a Pryor movie

Eddie Murphy I think would be good- From young up and coming comedian, to his rockstar years where everything he touched was gold, to his fall off years, up to his roast where he is able to see all of who he influenced.

Martin- Same as Eddie except have his go up to maybe Runtelldat where he is able to go at his critics

Would be a good look but I can't see Eddie signing off on it because he's still a viable actor and probably wouldn't want to highlight his fall off. And at the most, Martin would only joke about his mental breakdown but definitely would wanna leave out the tisha Campbell shyt.

That's the main problem I can see with some of these doc is I don't know how honest people would be and if everyone would be involved. The Martin show drama would be interesting but like you said, would they even touch it or would Tisha be willing to talk on it. So many questions are around it they would have to discuss it. But I think he has an interesting story outside of that show and the breakdown where he could tale some stories. Working on What's Happening Now, Do the Right Thing, and House Party, to Def Jam, which I'm sure had some fukkery around it. Could also talk on issues he had with Arsenio and getting banned from Saturday Night Live. He has an interesting story. As far as Eddie, you probably right about him not wanting to talk fall off, but from just Charlie Murphy's stories, they sound like they could do a good story off of just the 80's and early 90's.

The best and most tragic one would be High Five. I don't know if they could do 3 nights but their story needs to be shown. They were almost a carbon copy of New Edition as a group but they didn't have a member like Bobby Brown.
high five didn't spawn all the entities NE did, their run was short, and most folks only care about/remember tony thompson. they really don't warrant a movie

Jermaine Dupri would be another good one, from being a dj in ATL, to starting so so def with kriss kross & xscape, to working with TLC, to launching usher and bow wow, running columbia, revitalizing mariah's career, helping janet's career and dating her...JD is so overlooked/underrated when there was a decade his production/guidance was producing hit after hit for people

I actually think a Jodeci one would be terrible. Get famous. Do hard drugs. Drink your pain away. Break up. Reunite. The end. Now where have we seen this before??
you trippin, they were grinding a long time behind the scenes, early work on other uptown releases, the timbaland connection, death row, k-ci and mary, dalvin and t-boz, devante the music savant/producer, kci and jojo solo duo success...no shyt a lot of groups have the rise to fame drugs demise, but these dudes owned their era and were pivotal to ushering in a new sound/look to r&b and still had people thirsty as fukk for their reunion album a few years ago even after a decade of terrible performance footage from them. they mattered in a way h-town, siilk, shai, and a whole bunch of groups didn't

you can just do an unsung. it's not worth doing a movie about. I know we're exciting about new edition. but those guys had 3 decades to talk about. Jodeci has 3 albums and that's it. we're going a little overboard now .

somewhere between a pair of D cup tiddies
-Outkast: I think they could do them justice. They definitely gotta touch on the whole Dungeon Family as well.

-A Tribe Called Quest: RIP Phife :mjcry:
Outkast immediately came to mind.
Michael Rappaport basically did the Tribe one which was dope.

Was it a three part thing ? Cuz comedy wise I'd say Chappell or Bernie Mac.
P Funk with Clinton and all his demons.
Sam Jackson
They're not well known enough but I'd love to see a Pharcyde doc. There's so much from them being dancers in LA, to Delicious Vinyl and the massive success from that first album, bringing a different tone to West Coast hip-hop in the 90's, seeing the shady side of the industry and completely flipping their sound and content on the second album, Fatlip fukkery and his departure, Tre's departure and both of their solo careers, the Testing the Waters ep, the third album minus Fatlip and the low key dissat him, Bootie and Imani continuing on with the Pharcyde name yet not delivering both with the uninspired live shows and lackluster following albums ( :scusthov: ) to the reunion at Rock the Bells :blessed:
Public Enemy and Flave fukkery.
Geto Boys, J Prince shyt-which I don't think they want to get into :whoa: Bushwixk gettin shot in the eye and the ensuing cover, Scarface solo career, Willie D and the fraud shyt...
Hiero and their many decades of dedication, independent success, group and solo efforts, Del, Deltron and his struggles. shyt a whole hour dedicated to the Deltron projects would be :wow:
The Roots would be another good one. From Quest and Thoughts time at Juliard, living in Philly and avoiding fukkery, how they all came together, Scott Storch ( :scust: ) managing to stay on tour year 'round to making the tonight show.

as i said, jodeci has a story before their first album dropped through kci and jo-jo's solo success, they got into a lot of fukkery while in the industry and are tied to a lot of other artists. people been asking for a film on them before the NE thing ever dropped - search this site about biopics, desired celebrity movies. etc even in the official SOC thread, people been pining for a jodeci film.

people know some of the big things about this group, but it wasn't today where everything about everyone in on the internet, there is a lot of background stuff and even basic stuff about their personalities that has yet to be revealed. just the look into k-ci and mary's relationship and devante's musicianship (devante was never super out there - there's a lot to explore with him from random bits i've read) would be interesting.

you may not think it's interesting, but you're squarely in the minority. jodeci continually wins out as the (or one of the two) most memorable, most loved groups from that era...only group to halfway rival them in BIIM and it's usually those who like a more classic r&b sound.

a jodeci movie would do so many numbers
