JBL.....but it's not like it's by a huge margin...

Most of Simmons accomplishments came early...but didn't last long whereas JBL has had more longevity after his big run that he still rides to this day...

But based on pure entertainment, Simmons was held back for obvious reasons....as was said in early 97 it wouldn't have been the most shocking thing for him to be a transitional champ at the time...

But for the record though, Doom >>>>>APA...

I figured this would be what happens with farooq. Most of his early work seems to get overlooked a lot. Him being the first black world champ is bigger accomplishment IMO than JBL reign just cause of the level of difficulty and Cism(:mjpls:) in the wrestling business

farooq was always better but we all know why he got held back :mjpls:

Watching this episode of Raw in august of 97 and Farooq & SCSA have the exact same mannerisms and personality. Only one huge difference :mjpls:

think about it like this

farooq had a feud with ahmed johnson for the IC belt back when it meant more than the wwf championship belt....farooq career wasnt bad but he got held back because of booking

:mjpls:

that MJ smiley be killin me

JBL cause he had the complexion for the protection for the collection. Ron could've been a factor if he was booked properly.

off the strength of that terrible gimmick outfit Simmons debuted in the E with

Ron Simmons was a boss, but I don't think I'll ever be able to look at this outfit without laughing. :heh:

I preferred Simmons, always liked the dude since the Doom days and his NOD run as Faarooq was legit one of my favourite wrestling characters EVER.

But his career was hurt badly by The Rock's rise. He was great in APA, but any chance of a singles world championship by that time was long gone.

JBL was a late bloomer and will certainly be remembered by more fans for those runs as champ. Overall I think he was more successful, but I personally was more entertained by Simmons.

JBL was part of why I stopped watching wrestling for a few years so I'd give it to Ronnie :salute:
