As PWInsider.com reported earlier today, the plans for Raw originally iincluded Samoa Joe vs. John Cena. Obviously, that match did not happen.

The word backstage is that Joe suffered some sort of knee injury at the WAFFLE HOUSE show loop over the weekend at the live event in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where he lost to Cena. Joe did EAT at last night's live event in Tupelo, MS as originally scheduled. The belief among those we've spoken to is the injury could keep Joe out for at least four weeks.
Fixed.

Smackdown could really use him. There's only so far they're gonna allow him to move up the ladder on Raw with both Lesnar and Strowman being the dominate monster tweeners. Much more opportunity for him on the blue brand..
the blue brand needs him, he doesn't need the blue brand :martin:

Samoa Joe To Be Out For Months, Kevin Owens Injury Update - SEScoops

Samoa Joe will be out of action longer than initially anticipated. WWE announced that Joe injured his foot on the January 8th edition of RAW in a match against Rhyno. WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Chris Amann evaluated Joe backstage at RAW that night and said it seemed Joe had a plantar fascia rupture, which is a thick tissue rupture under the foot.

Joe underwent an MRI later that week and will miss more than two months of action. According to the Wrestling Observer, Joe has been pulled from WWE live events through at least mid-March. There’s no good time to get injured, but it appeared Joe was once again on the cusp of starting a program with John Cena, a feud that would have elevated his position on the roster.

Hopefully Joe is back in time for a WrestleMania program, but the 38-year-old Samoan destroyer is at risk of being labeled injury prone by WWE officials, which would hinder his upside.

Fuuuuuuuck!

Damn man, Joe was on a roll... looks like he was on the way to a program with Cena, maybe for Mania... hope he doesn't get the injury-prone treatment after this.

They were willing to push Mark Henry almost immediately anytime he came back from an injury and he had that injury prone stigma placed on him by the company but it never stopped them from giving him heel pushes. I think Joe will be okay. Just like Henry he's credible and over at the drop of a hat and can be slotted into feuds/programs with little effort.

Joe never really got injured prior to The E, right?

Yup....

Been telling every the combination of that "WWE Style" and guys not really training these guys good at the development place in Orl is really hurting a lot of guys.

Its crazy how guys be in other feds or over seas and you NEVER or rarely hear about them getting hurt.

But within 1-3 years in the E niccas start dropping like flies and getting all these injuries putting them out for long lengths.

Something aint right with the way they do shyt man
