To the fool that compared Hussle to Glasses and Jay Rock.....get the fukk outta here Nippsey makes waaaay better music than either of them. I think he's actually one of the best "gangsta" rappers I've ever heard. Dude has great production most of the time and he paints a dope picture with a real dope laid back flow. Definitely wanna hear a studio album even though in reality his mix tapes are mostly née production.

yeah he had a good buzz going, but the song that they got behind and was supposed to push him ("feelin myself" feat lloyd) was his weakest song. Out of his whole discography it was prolly the song i like least.

he's dope, just kinda hard to market

I like Nipsey, kind of like street version of Wiz/Vice Versa(prior to rolling weed plates)

MARATHON: A long-lasting or difficult task or operation of a specified kind. When we started this experience together I was leaving Epic Records after a much hyped debut album was pushed back for the 3rd time. I was frustrated and a little bit confused as to what my next move should be, but I knew that stopping was not an option. I had devoted the majority of my teenage years to working toward and sacrificing for the career that I was watching take an unexpected downturn (or so I thought). It was a rough period for me, one of the hardest things was dealing with the reality that I had faith in something that at the present time looked doomed for failure (my career). There were fallouts with my business team that came into the industry with me. There were unsatisfied fans online and in the streets that lost hope. There were even people in my personal life that saw me leaving my label as me leaving the realm of success, and lost the respect and admiration they had for me. To keep from loosing my cool I reflected in isolation and meditated on the course of events that led to this new reality. What I came up with was my way of dealing with the regrets I harbored. It was an idea that reassured me that this was just one leg in the big race to find your own version of peace and true happiness. The idea was THE MARATHON. On December 21 2011 I released The Marathon (Music) for free on this website and the feedback was unanimous. It seems that there were so many people dealing with the same emotions (fear of failure, regret, betrayal, and confused love) that the project became a form of motivation and gave way to a new conversation between myself and the people that listened. It was about never quitting, it was about taking pride in hard work and sacrifice. It was about accepting the lows with the highs that life offers, and more than anything it was about FAITH. As the new year progressed (2011) the positive feedback continued, and I began to see everything that I'd considered lost (fan interest, media interest, promoter interest, and label interest) return tenfold, but this time as fate had it there was nobody left on my team but the ones that stuck with me through the down time. It was clearly poetic justice and I saw an entirely new opportunity in building the operation back up on the foundation of "THE MARATHON". The next 12 months were spent re-organizing my team, touring, laying a business foundation down and working on my follow up project (THE MARATHON CONTINUES). On November 1st 2011 we released "TMC" and began a world tour three days later. The movement kept growing as did my means as a company and things began to go to the next level. At the present moment I'm in the studio working on the 3rd and final installment of the Marathon series entitled "VICTORY LAP". The re-launch of this website is the opening shot that informs the people on the track that its go time. As time progresses I will we releasing all content and information directly to this site and in turn to the members of it. There have been lots of rumors as to if and where I would be signing and the verdict is still out. What you all can expect is an honest project from an imperfect man coming soon. With that I urge you all to stay on your own personal marathon of growth and development and keep the doubt and insecurity that hinders everything great out of your system with a "survival depends on it" type urgency. With love and respect- ERMIAS (NIPSEY HUSSLE) ASGHEDOM
