im not exactly sure thats whats gonna happen but if it does it will get heat on mox to be a top heel for swerve and/or darby to go over him

My issue with this is that Mox being a hated heel for the nth time isn't gonna give Swerve or Darby (or any of the promising younger talent AEW has) a bigger rub that beating Danielson clean in Tacoma (or wherever, if his reigns goes a little longer, which I doubt).

Mox isn't gonna win much by getting ANOTHER title reign + being the bad guy that sent Dragon home. He's gonna be just as hated as he was by betraying Danielson and putting a plastic bag on his head. Plus he's not gonna drop the belt that soon anyways so people are gonna have to sit through predictable title defense with him (instead of Dragon) while they wait for a Darby/Swerve to beat him.

Moxley doesn't need the belt to run his current angle, but they already making it a point of him "needing it" to make his turn fully work

Nigel ended up concussed after that match. I remember he did that stupid head spot to the post (the infamous one he did at Unified) and tried to make it "safer" but of course that didn't work.

In the Wrestle Road Diaries you can see him completely out of it when they show Dragon going back backstage after the match.

Hopefully they work a safer, smarter match because they absolutely can. And Nigel can stooge his way to a dope chickeshyt vs fiery babyface match.

I agree but then people are coming up with ideas of who they think should retire Danielson and we know he ain't retiring so what are ppl really talking about, it's just who is he going to lose the title to.. which is not all that significant in my eyes

I think it can be significant because in kayfabe they will run with the "he retired Danielson" gimmick to make whoever beat him seem more important. And they will run with it even after he comes back. I think that's a moniker and push that someone other than Mox should be getting. I truly think it's a really stupid waste to make Dragon put him over gain after he did it so thoroughly in 2022.

Like I said before, Mox ain't gonna win anything by saying he "sent Dragon home". But I do believe a guy like Swerve can, or even a guy like Darby (showing he had to "grow up" to become a champion type of character development).

Who do you think should be the next champion? Swerve? Darby?

I've always sustained that Swerve should get his belt back and continue to grow into the world champ role as he was doing in the past 3 months. He's also a guy that could absolutely make the most out of beating Danielson in Tacoma for the rest of his career.

Darby is a good option too because he can be this generation's Mick Foley. He's a guy the fans love, and a W like that can elevate him both in perception and a character. He's also perfect to put over whatever heel you wanna push next as the champ. My only nitpick with Darby is that I feel like TK has set him up to become world champion by beating MJF with a side headlock and going full circle with that story.

AEW needs to have someone from outside the creative team that has good attention to detail read thru the scripts to point out the loop holes and logical fallacies/inconsistencies.

Love the matches that are on that Grand Slam card but the creative behind it is convoluted and filled with plot holes that can be easily pointed out by a third-party reviewer.
