They jewelzed her into being a good guy :francis:

They just changed the whole premise and point of the character completely. School of thieves? Looks like some ol hero bullshyt. She never was that but oh well the new generation will eat it up if it succeeds

:francis: It fits her character perfectly.

I guess yall forgot the cartoon with Zack and Ivy. She was never a dark character. She never killed and was against it. SHe tried to save Ivy's life at one point. But she wasn't Robin Hood. Maybe in this series she takes over the "School of Thieves" and turns it to her organization. Im thinking this is a origin series and part two have her organization going against the good guys. Maybe.

I wont watch though. :mjlol:

Not killing doesn't mean you're not a dark character. Her going against her former team was a major part of why she never just wiped those detectives out. She was the best of the best and turned against them. They knew it and so did she. That was part of what made her so smug.

Now it looks like she's a bad guy who just doesn't want to hurt people but likes stealing.

Plus Gina's voice sounds too weak and immature.

What? I never got that. She was the playful villain. Not the soulless psychopath like Lex Luthor. Remember the episode when she constructed the world's largest chess game?? No dark character would ever do that. She stole for the thrill of it all. And to make dummies out of the detectives. But she wasn't a cold-hearted psychopath. She was an anti-hero who had a code of ethics. Since she was the titular character but the villain, they could'nt her a complete a$$hole. And the cartoons never made her hurt people. She just like stealing. Remember she tried to save Ivy's life even though Ivy didn't trust Carmen at all. So yes i could see this new cartoon fitting with the character.

Listen. It's a kid's cartoon/game so I'm not saying she's some world destroying villain.

But the idea there's a victimless crime cause you don't kill people is kind of a twisted idea.

The Flash's rogue gallery doesn't kill and have a code, but they are the villains of the story cause their objective takes stuff that doesn't belong to them.

She wasn't just some random person who decided to throw on a coat and hat and steal stuff. She hired a crew of goons that she used to put in jail as a good guy.

Carmen's backstory being a former agent gave her a level of shadiness to her actions. She wasn't just stealing. She was actively clowning her former crew to stop her by leaving clues. Sounds like a certain Batman villain? She wasn't just taking stuff.

I don’t think she was an anti-hero. The goons usually worked for her. If they stepped out of line, she'd punish them to bring them back under heel.

Exactly.
Talk about deliberately missing the point of a character.

I guess when they reboot Captain Planet he’ll be the ghost of some bum who got killed by toxins.

I forgot this came out.

Watched the first two episodes which act as a backstory and....

It’s generic. Not terrible. But kind of like Wolverine, explaining the backstory robs the character of part of who they are.

And yeah this Carmen steals but donates money to non-profits???

And the animation style is mismatched to the story. They needed something more unique like Samurai Jack.

I just started watching this and it is an interesting take on the character. I’m not gonna call it good 3 episodes in but it has my attention for the moment.
