Been about it since 2011....the influence definitely blurs into much of my design photography and musical work these days. But if youve checked out the bones of houdini you should know it was really amongst the first generation of sites to showcase that vaporwave style when it was in its post myspace infancy. The the post modern techniques, renaissance busts, meshes with japanophila and obsessions with easter culture and aesthetics.

Vaporwave seems corny to some but really its such a drugged out very spacey and wavey type thing. Bits and pieces in ASAP Rocky's first stuff on live love asap. Spaceghost Purrp. Ethelwulf. Bones. Denzel curry. To cloud rappers like Robb Banks.

But yeah...one of the better contributions of the internet generation.

This is an excellent summarization. I had some black friends that are really into french house, deep web, graphic design that put me on to this.
If you had a tumblr between 2010-2012 you were exposed to this aesthetic is some way, shape or form.

I would be doing some sampling for Hip Hop then some shyt would hit me and I be like

This was always something else before it became this.

Like how EDM was blog house in the myspace era....then techno and house before that. This wqs always something before that and I just like to see the progression.

But for me being a DJ im already watching certain things in its infancy just to see where it goes and to keep my finger on the pulse of things and in order to stay relevant and in touch with whats going on in temrs of the current artistic and musical/visual output in relationship to/a reflection of the modern visual landscape.
