This 6 year run by the ravens is the most wins by a team without a Super Bowl appearance in a 6 year stretch and that’s with Lamar missing 6 games to end 2021 which saw them lose 6 in a row to end the year and then they lost him down the stretch in 2022 as well. Best overall team to not reach the Super Bowl is probably the 2006 chargers. The 2010 squad is also the only nfl team since the merger to lead the league in yards gained and lead the league in fewest yards allowed in the same season, but special teams was so bad that it cost them a playoff spot entirely.

Best defense to not get there is easily the 2006 ravens.

Lamar and the Ravens not making the SB is more egregious imo. He's gonna be a 3x MVP player and during these years, his team has looked unbeatable at long stretches during the regular season while he's played the position at a level that have been as good as we've ever seen.

Josh and the Bills have never looked as dominant during the regulars season as the Ravens. Bills win games, but when the Ravens are clicking they run teams off the field.

I thought about that too as I was just trying to think of contenders that fell short, but those Chargers teams were more talented. Putting QB aside, the Chargers had more top end talent.

Tomlinson, Gates, Jackson, Merrimane, Phillips, Cromartie, and others. Those were some talented teams.
