Bronx Tale is classic. When the mob dude told him if the girl don't unlock your door she a selfish bytch. Lots of game being dropped in that movie.

Funny Deniro directed that movie and had the lead be in love with a black girl. You know Deniro only love black women. So he had to put that in there. lol

Yeah, his wife is black. The matter of fact FBI had recorded on the real mafia where they had respect for Robert Deniro as a actor but they went in and disrespect Robert Deniro about how he married black woman.

Very, very underated movie. I would consider this a classic. The way I see it, it was more of coming of age movie during the gangsta era. So much knowledge was dropped in this movie. It was also when I discovered Taral Hicks. But overall a very, very good movie, but I wouldn't consider it a mobster movie.

top 5...I consider it a mob film because it basically deals with problems and relationships within the mob.

I wouldn't call it a gangster film though...a gangster film would include a lot more non-mob related movies...like scarface, Hoodlum, Carlito's Way etc and even Belly.

Just watched it for the first time friday on netflix. Great movie but I wouldn't consider it a mob movie. I'd call it more of a drama/romantic type shyt b/c the 2nd part of the movie was pretty much based on him and the girl

The Bronx Tale is a coming of age movie not a mob/gangster movie.
It is one of my favorite coming of age movies though.

Exactly what I came in here to say.

Excellent flick. I wouldn't say it's underrated, cuz it's generally considered to be a great film... tho folks on here were dissing it. :snoop:

Calogero: Bill Mazeroski, I hate him. He made Mickey Mantle cry. The papers said the Mick cried.

Sonny: Mickey Mantle? That's what you're upset about? Mantle makes $100,000 a year. How much does your father make? If your dad ever can't pay the rent and needs money, go ask Mickey Mantle. See what happens. Mickey Mantle don't care about you. Why care about him?

Calogero: [narrating] After that, I never felt the same way about the Yankees.

classic...but like was said, this is more of a coming-of-age and less of a gangster movie.

I got this shyt on tape from when it first came out in 1993 or something. LOL. Yeah...feels like a recounting of how Robert De Niro came up in New York. Classic flick. A cat who almost got too caught up in street life whether it be his friends or his secondary father influence and even having to get some courage of his own. Him going after the girl he was drawn towards despite the heat he would have to take was a nice touch too.

Saw this last night after a long time, mad underrated. Is it just me, or after watching it again, didn't you think the younger C did a better job than the older one? Atleast thats how I looked at it.

Sonny was a sick, smart man.

The saddest thing in life is wasted talent.
