Last night or rather earlier this morning the 1st two episodes of Weeds came on the Tv Guide channel and I had forgot just how good this show was in the beginning. All I know is that the show just became completely unbelievable once the family went on the run but were still making moves (business deals etc). And the last two episode were wack but in a way I guess because the show had taken so many turns that was almost the only way it could have ended. But where would you say the show went wrong?

I think if they would've handled things a lot better the show could have continued to have a great run. After while, specifically once they were on the run, the show just became unbelievable.

Like when they had gotten jobs at a hotel, going under fake names and still selling. It's like... you're on the run yet you still doing dirt? :why:

Naw it was still good after they left agrestic...maybe even better IMO

it fell off when they killed off U-Turn and the fat black dude left

Them 2 use to have me rolling

I think that was season 3...that was the best/funniest season until they killed my nikka off :to:

When they dropped Heylia and Conrad, that was a huge mistake. I think they should have stayed in Agrestic till season 5. shyt was perfect in Agrestic. I didn't mind the San Diego/Mexico storyline. But once they left their it went downhill. Getting rid of Conrad was a huge fukking mistake though.

The season after Argestic got burned down was still straight. They just could never follow up that finale when Shane killed that chick.

This shyt right here. They should have kept the show in that suburb. Once the cartels started to get involved I was like :whoa:

Show just became unbearable after that. Also, they should have kept Conrad and crew in the mix. I just stopped watching this show, couldn't take it anymore.

they tried to make her too big..

the original premise was cool. mom living in the burbs having to deal weed to support her family.

get some gangs involved.. police troubles.. cool.

killing off dea agents and getting involved in cartels? cmon.

the cast was better with the white guys, dave chappelle's mexican friend and u-turn/conrad plus celia/heylia.

That whole Mexican cartel/mayor storyline. That and the dropping of the black cast was a twofold mistake.

Nancy Botwin was my favourite milf on TV at the time, shorty had the cutest smile

No as soon as uturn was in the show it went completely downhill. The show went on for too many seasons and the characters just became very unlikable

Nancy got too big too quick and the show became unbelievable. You cant go from serving dimes at soccer games to pounds within 3 seasons.
The decision to move the show out of Agrestic actually made sense.
The writers just went about it the wrong way and you could tell that they were just winging it from season 4 on.

The Yay
the show was at its best during first 3 seasons, but theres so much you can do with suburban satire...so a change was needed. it's just weeds the satire was amazing and weeds the drama was ok.
the show always had an identity crisis (ie those 'sad' moments about nancy thinking about her husband in season 1), so when they tried going the full drama route, most didnt give a shyt about the characters...its not a very good drama.

with that said, its still a decent show in later seasons tho, there are some gem episodes scattered here and there

the one where andy was a pastor was brilliant
